Chain 91. Sc into 2nd ch from hook and into each ch across. Being careful not to twist the collar, join with a sl st into a circle. Sc into same st as joining and into ea st around. Join with a sl st to 1st st. Ch 3, turn. Dc into next st, ch1, sk 1 st,* dc into next 2 sts, ch1, sk 1 st*. Repeat from * to * to end. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch of beginning ch3. Ch 1, turn. Work two rounds of sc, joining with a sl st at end and making sure that you maintain 90 stitches in each round. Begin Triangles: Row 1: With Scarlett, sc into 1st 15 sc. Ch1, turn. Row 2: Sc 2 tog, sc into next 13 sc. Ch1, turn. Row: Sc 2 tog, sc into next 12 sc. Ch1, turn. Row 4: Sc 2 tog, sc into next 11 sc, Ch 1 turn. Rows 5-15: Continue to dec at the beginning of ea row until you have one st remaining in the last row. Fasten off. Attach Lime with a sl st into next open st on collar band. Repeat the previous directions for making the next triangle. To make the striped triangles, attach one color with a sl st and carry the other color as you crochet over it. At the end of the row, complete your last st by beginning the new color. Carry the unused color as you crochet over it.
Make 6 triangles in this manner, beginning each triangle in the very next available stitch on the band. When all triangles have been completed, sc around each triangle, placing 3 sc into st at point. Join to beginning st with a sl st. Fasten off. Weave in all ends. Sew a jingle bell to the tip of each triangle. Thread the strip of elastic through the spaces in the collar band. Overlap ends of elastic and sew together.
To increase the collar size, measure the pet's neck. Determine how many 15 stitch triangles will fit into that measurement and increase the measurement to accommodate whole triangles. Cut your elastic to fit comfortably around your pet's neck.
For larger pets, you can increase the size of the triangles to 20 stitches and for smaller pets, you may want to go down to 10 stitches. Caveat: I have never seen this pattern or item.
